Lauren Dukoff
Lauren Dukoff takes pictures of musicians, actors, and other super-cool people. She is good friends with musician Devendra Banhart and he is the subject of many of her photos. Other photos are of Kim Gordon, Beck, Zooey Deschanel, and Olivia Wilde. Her work can be seen in Elle, Spin, and Nylon Magazines and tons of other publications. Lauren's photos are hippy-esque and full of beautiful people in funky clothing in beautiful backgrounds. She also has a new book called “Family” that I am going to buy!!

Bob Masse
When you think of psychedelic concert posters from the 19060’s you have to think of Bob Masse! Inspired by the art nouveau movement Masse helped pioneer the psychedelic art genre! In the 60’s he spent time in San Francisco and LA where the art and music scene inspire his own work. He has created posters and CD covers for bands such as The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Cream, the Grateful Dead and much more. He has continued through the decades and has done contemporary artists like Tori Amos, the Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, and Moe. I love his bold graphics, colorful colors, and awesome lettering!

Jen Stark
Jen Stark’s art is truly original! I have never seen anything like it! Stark works mainly with paper and makes sculptures that look like blooming flowers, puddles of water, and layers of the earth’s crust. She says she’s inspired by “fractals, wormholes, an dead bodies”.When I look at her paper sculptures the word I think of is “bliss”, they just make you so happy! Her drawings and animations are quite cool tool. To make her sculptures, Stark sketches her designs and then uses an X-acto knife-no computer modeling to help her at all! Wow!

Sandra Backlund
Sandra Backlund’s collections are inspired by the human body. She is “really fascinated by all the ways in which you can highlight, distort, and transform the natural silhouette of the body with clothes and accessories”. Backlund’s collections are all extremely sculptural, well styled, and very avant-garde. The photographs and stylings of each outfit are amazing too. I normally hate knitwear, but Backlund’s creations are just spectacular. And check out those clothespin dresses!
